A quick-reference layer: what requires which plan, which settings change other settings, what spends credits, how to resolve common surprises, and a plain glossary.
A · Plan-gate map
Which features are locked behind a plan or a connection. If a screen shows an upgrade banner, this is why.
| Feature | Requirement | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| AI Assets — Effects, Video, Face Swap /aiassets | Pro + internet | Otherwise the whole page is hidden behind a "Pro required" banner; setting up/testing also uses credits. |
| White-Labeling /whitelabeling | Ultimate | App name, logos, domain, account micro-site. |
| Sharing — per-event micro-site override | Ultimate | The White-Label Event Override block on the ActivationShare tab. |
| Sharing page /sharing | internet | QR / email / SMS all require a connection. |
| Run on Startup (Kiosk tab) | Windows / macOS | Hidden on tablets — the OS can't auto-start. |
| Save Directory (Session) | Windows | Hidden on tablets (sandboxed storage). |
| 2-inch cut calibration (Printing) | Windows | Per printer; calibrate button only. |
| Glambot /glambot | Glambot booth mode | The sidebar item appears only in Glambot mode. |
B · "If you change X, Y also changes"
The automatic behaviors that catch operators out. When a setting quietly nudges another, it's listed here.
| If you change… | …this happens automatically |
|---|---|
| Booth Mode → Video 360 or Glambot | Auto-Trigger turns on, the Photo capture mode turns off, Video turns on. |
| Booth Mode → Classic | Auto-Trigger turns off. (Photo/Video are not brought back — set them yourself.) |
| Booth Mode → Glambot | The robotic arm is enabled and the Glambot sidebar item appears. |
| Removing the last capture mode | Rejected — the booth must produce at least one output. |
| Event creation (event-type choices) | Seeds the capture modes, Auto-Trigger, the printer on/off and the H.264/Low render defaults once. |
| Printer on/off | No longer derived automatically — set once at creation, then fully manual. (But a runtime manual toggle can still override it; see Printing behavior.) |
| White-label main logo | Spreads the custom logo to the sidebar, login and app screens (and to the pre-launch splash name). |
| Selecting / creating an event | Rebuilds the sidebar (opens the Design + Run groups) and enables Run the App. |
C · Credit costs and troubleshooting
What spends AI credits
| Action | Cost | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Set Settings with AI (DSLR recommendation) | 2 credits per use | Event Settings → Camera → Advanced |
| Test Effect | Per model (shown on the model) | AI Assets → AI Effects → create/edit |
| AI effect / video generation at capture | Per model | Runs during the event |
Top up any time from Add AI Credits in the account menu or from the Dashboard's credits card. If a credit-spending action finds your balance too low, the credits payment opens automatically.
Common surprises and their fixes
| Symptom | Most likely cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Most items missing from the sidebar | No event selected. Select or create one from Events. |
| "Run the App" is dimmed/disabled | Same thing — no active event. Check the selected-event chip in the sidebar. |
| The login indicator never finishes | The login browser was closed before finishing. Tap Cancel and try again. |
| Camera shows "offline / searching" | The sticky camera lost its connection; the app is auto-reconnecting. Check the cable/power — it reconnects on its own. |
| A DSLR dial change didn't show in the app | Some bodies don't report the change. Use Read Status on the Camera tab or turn on Auto Read. |
| Prints come out the wrong size | An outdated 2-inch cut / driver configuration. Check the driver's paper and cut dialog and re-calibrate (Part 12). |
| You turned the print button on and it turned itself off | The event mode is overriding it. Reconcile the modes with a manual toggle (Printing behavior). |
| HEVC output never appears on a machine | That hardware has no HEVC encoder → it falls back to H.264. Choose H.264 for predictability. |
| An uploaded cover / reference image "disappeared" | It was saved before its upload finished. Wait for the "uploaded" status before closing the modal. |
| A Face Swap gallery looks empty as soon as it opens | Its targets sync separately and can take ~15 s on a cold load. Wait a moment. |
| Guests didn't get a working email/SMS link | Send a test first and verify that the link variable in the template resolves. |
D · Glossary
- Event
- A single booth setup (wedding, brand activation…). It has its own templates, capture modes, camera, and sharing and print settings. Only one event is "current" at a time, and every configuration screen applies to it.
- Booth Mode
- The booth's overall character: Classic, Video 360 or Glambot. Video 360 and Glambot are hands-free "automatic" modes.
- Capture Mode
- The output types the booth produces: Photo, GIF, Video, Boomerang. More than one can be on at a time; at least one must be on.
- Event Mode
- Online (default, recommended) or Offline operation.
- Auto-Trigger
- When on, the booth captures without the guest confirming — used by the hands-free automatic modes.
- Template
- The layout guest photos are placed into — slots, background, logo, QR, text. Created in the template editor.
- ActivationShare / Micro-site
- The web page guests reach via the sharing QR/gallery, where they view and download their results.
- Surprise Mode
- A button that gives each guest a random effect/target instead of letting them choose (in AI Effects, AI Video and Face Swap).
- Target and Gallery (Face Swap)
- A target is a face that guests' faces are placed onto; a gallery is a folder of targets. Green face boxes are swapped, gray ones are skipped.
- Reference Image / Cover
- For AI effects: reference images guide the AI look; the cover is the thumbnail shown on the effect card.
- Credits
- The balance AI operations (effect testing, AI camera recommendation, result generation) draw from. Topped up by payment.
- Session
- A guest's run through the booth. Session Settings govern its behavior (countdown, duration, codec/quality).
- Desktop Editing
- A "camera" option that imports from a file instead of a live camera — handy for editing existing photos.
- Fine-Tune (print fine-tuning)
- Per-printer position/scale/paper settings so the image sits correctly on the paper.
- 2-inch cut
- A physical cut some printers make to split a print; calibrated per printer on Windows.
- Kiosk PIN
- A 4-digit code that protects re-entry from a running booth back into the operator admin panel.
This guide covers only the operator configuration surface; the live capture (photo-taking) experience is deliberately out of scope. Screens marked with a screenshot placeholder will be filled with real images in a following step.
