Want classic photos or a 2x6 strip where guests appear in front of your own custom background instead of the room behind them? There are two ways to replace or swap the background: a physical green screen (free) or AI Background Removal (no curtain needed, uses credits).
Option 1: Green screen (free)
If you have a green backdrop, use the green screen mode: the app keys out the green and places your background image behind guests automatically. This costs no credits, but a physical green screen behind the guest is required.
Option 2: AI Background Removal (no curtain)
No green screen? Build it into your template:
- Open your template in the template editor (Templates page).
- Add your background as an image layer. Add an Image layer and upload your background picture, then size and position it: as a full-canvas backdrop, or one background per photo frame on a strip.
- Add the AI Background Removal layer on top. This layer is the captured guest with the original background removed. Position and scale it so the person sits in front of your background.
- Layer order matters. Keep the background image below and the AI Background Removal layer above it. On strips you only need to cover the photo frames, not the entire canvas.
Good to know
- AI Background Removal consumes credits per processed photo; the green screen mode is free.
- Take a test shot to fine-tune the person's position and size over your background.
